John's Directorial debut "The Master" is a digital horror short inspired by a story from Stephen King's "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" collection. We shot the film over the course of 2 nights in late December 2004 in downtown Winter Haven FL. Editing was finished in 2005. John served as writer/director, and Dan Langlois assisting in all departments. The outdoor holiday decorations in downtown Winter Haven worked perfectly for the look of a city backdrop. We also tried not to catch any palm trees or to specify exactly where it all takes place for effect. The budget was low and lighting was a learning process but we had a blast doing it and will be working on the next project very soon...
